Maize PR39A61

Stable yields in temperate climate conditions

The PR39A61 maize hybrid from the American breeding center Pioneer s.a. is a classic solution for farms focused on achieving predictable results in both grain and silage segments. Thanks to its short vegetation period (100–110 days), this hybrid serves as an optimal tool for crop rotation optimization, allowing farmers to effectively plan their harvesting campaigns.

Agronomic potential and resistance

The main advantage of PR39A61 lies in its high adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions. The flint grain type ensures excellent test weight and high yield of floury fractions, which is highly valued in the processing industry. Practitioners highlight the hybrid's resistance to key pathogens:

• Loose smut;
• Common smut.

These phytosanitary characteristics help significantly reduce costs associated with fungicide applications and minimize quality losses even in seasons with high infection pressure.

Application recommendations

The usage profile of PR39A61 is versatile. It is chosen for:

• Producing high-quality commercial grain, suitable for long-term storage and deep processing.
• Silage production with an optimal starch-to-biomass ratio, which is critical for intensive livestock feeding operations.

The hybrid requires adherence to optimal sowing windows, given its FAO rating. With proper management, PR39A61 demonstrates uniform emergence and even ripening, which simplifies harvesting operations and reduces grain loss risks during combine processing.
