Maize P9967

Stable, High-Quality Silage Production

When you start ensiling P9967, you immediately notice the difference in biomass quality. This simple hybrid from Corteva is a classic choice for those focused on livestock feed or biogas output. Thanks to its dent grain type and specific FAO rating, the plant develops a robust stalk that flows through the harvester easily, ensuring consistent particle size without constant machine adjustments.

Agronomics and Disease Protection

In the field, this hybrid is highly predictable. Over a 160–180 day maturity period, it consistently accumulates impressive vegetative mass. Its resistance to head smut and common smut isn't just marketing—it's actual savings on fungicides and a guarantee that healthy, mycotoxin-free feed goes into the pit.

Seeding Guidelines

For planting density, stick to the sweet spot of 60,000 to 70,000 plants/ha, depending on the site’s soil moisture. At this density, the plants don't compete for light, and the ears mature to the perfect condition. If you are producing for biogas, aim for the lower end of that range to optimize methane yield per ton of biomass.

Why growers choose this hybrid:

• Consistent silage mass yields per hectare.
• High tolerance to major fungal diseases.
• Predictable harvest performance across various machinery brands.
• Excellent balance of starch and fiber for livestock nutrition.

For any farming operation, this is a workhorse that doesn't need high-maintenance care, just consistent, reliable biomass production every single season.
