The hybrid corn NUBisel is the result of selective breeding aimed at developing high-yielding varieties with improved agronomic traits. Special attention is paid to the maternal forms of the hybrid, which significantly affect yield and the synthetic structure of the plant. This work is based on modern methods of crop selection and genetics, as confirmed by thesis research and expert reviews.
The development and introduction of the NUBisel hybrid are carried out in close cooperation with leading scientific institutions in Ukraine, such as the Selection-Genetic Institute and the Institute of Plant Production named after V.Ya. Yuryev of NAAN. Students of the Department of Genetics, Selection, and Maternal Breeding named after Professor M.O. Zelenko actively participate in research projects, contributing to the continuous improvement of the hybrid and its adaptation to various agro-climatic conditions.
Moreover, research includes studying the influence of a microbial complex on the fatty acid composition of corn, which allows identifying new components of the lipid profile important for plant germination and development. The use of modern analytical methods, such as gas chromatography, contributes to a deeper understanding of biochemical processes in the NUBisel hybrid and opens prospects for further improving its quality characteristics.
