Corn NS 2014 is an early-maturing hybrid with a maturity period of about 110 days and belongs to the FAO maturity group 260. The plant height reaches 240-250 cm, and the cylindrical ear, up to 30-31 cm long, contains 14-18 rows of yellow-orange kernels. The 1000-kernel weight is 280-290 grams, indicating the hybrid's large kernel size. The seeds are treated with the microfertilizer HAHIT Master and the fungicide Carbocyst + Thiram, providing additional protection and improved germination.
NS 2014 has a high yield potential up to 10 tons per hectare, although in real conditions it reaches 6-8 tons. The recommended planting density varies depending on the growing region: 80,000 plants per hectare in the Polissia, 70,000 in the Forest-Steppe, and 60,000 in the Steppe. The hybrid exhibits good resistance to major diseases and pests, including downy mildew, fusarium, pest damage, as well as drought tolerance and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
The optimal regions for growing corn NS 2014 are the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Poltava regions, as well as the Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones of Ukraine. The crop is light-loving and requires timely weed control and optimal planting density to achieve maximum yields. The hybrid was developed at the Institute of Field Crops and Vegetable Growing in Novi Sad and registered in 2010, confirming its proven breeding background and adaptation to regional conditions.
