The MAS 20P maize hybrid is an early-maturing grain variety with high yield potential and excellent grain quality. It is characterized by high starch content, making it suitable for processing into grits and feed purposes. The plant has medium height with moderate ear attachment, contributing to good lodging resistance both during vegetation and after harvest. MAS 20P demonstrates rapid early growth and good adaptation to various soil-climatic conditions, especially in the Polissya and Steppe regions of Ukraine.
The hybrid exhibits high tolerance to common maize diseases, including Fusarium ear and stalk rot, as well as smut and downy mildew, ensuring stable yields and reducing risk of losses. Agronomic characteristics include high drought resistance, good grain moisture release, and a prolonged green mass retention period (Stay green). Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: from 70,000 to 85,000 plants per hectare.
MAS 20P belongs to the early-maturing group with a sum of effective temperatures at flowering of approximately 845°C and at maturity — 1640°C. The grain is dent-type, characteristic of French breeding, providing high feed value and fiber digestibility. This hybrid is optimal for cultivation in Ukraine, combining high productivity, stress and disease resistance, and grain quality in demand within the agro-industrial complex.
