The hybrid corn MAS 23K belongs to the early-mid-maturing group with FAO 220-230, ensuring a fast maturation cycle and allowing for a stable yield under various climatic conditions. The plant is of medium height with ear attachment at the middle level, and has a cream-toothed kernel type, making it versatile for both grain and feed purposes. The 1000-seed mass ranges from 280 to 320 grams, and the ear contains 14-16 rows of kernels with 30-32 kernels per row, contributing to high yield.
MAS 23K exhibits high adaptability to stressful conditions, including drought and high temperatures, which gives the hybrid excellent drought and lodging resistance. The plant features rapid and uniform emergence, as well as the Stay Green type, ensuring a prolonged vegetative period and maintaining green biomass. The hybrid also shows high tolerance to major corn diseases, such as stalk and ear fusarium, and head smut, which helps maintain crop health and yield stability.
The recommended planting density is 80-90 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 75-80 thousand under unstable moisture. MAS 23K is well-suited for cultivation across the entire territory of Ukraine, particularly in steppe zones. Its grain is of high quality and suitable for both industrial use and animal feeding, especially for piglets, making this hybrid a versatile and profitable choice for farmers.
