Maize MAS 18T

French breeding in action: experiences with MAS 18T

When selecting a hybrid for commercial crops, farmers are looking for a balance between grain yield and silage quality. The MAS 18T hybrid from Maisadour Semences is exactly the universal solution that helps when you need to meet both demands simultaneously. The flint-dent grain type ensures excellent moisture release during maturation, which simplifies logistics and reduces drying costs significantly.

Crop health and resilience

The main headache for a farmer is diseases that can destroy a third of the crop. MAS 18T demonstrates enviable resistance to pathogens. In high infection pressure conditions, this hybrid stands strong. It shows high tolerance against head smut, maize common smut, and fusarium, which helps reduce fungicide budgets and provides confidence that the ears will remain healthy until harvest time.

Agronomic nuances

• Versatility: This hybrid performs equally well for both grain and silage production. The resulting silage is well-balanced in nutrients, which is crucial for dairy farming.
• FAO: Its maturity rating makes it highly predictable, which is a major advantage during the busy harvesting season.

Working with MAS 18T is straightforward: germination is uniform, and the plants are sturdy and resistant to lodging. For an agronomist, this means a trouble-free harvest with minimal losses. If you are looking for stability guaranteed by a premium French brand, this hybrid is a rational choice for your farm.
