MAS 18T Hybrid corn is a high-yielding, early-maturing, versatile hybrid intended for grain and silage production. It features a dent-type kernel and belongs to the maturity group with FAO 210. The plant demonstrates high adaptability to various growing conditions, allowing successful cultivation in the Polissya, Forest Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine. MAS 18T possesses high nutritional and feed value due to its significant starch content and overall feed value of 9 points.
Morphological and agronomic characteristics of the hybrid include kernel rows ranging from 14 to 18 and kernels per row from 28 to 32, with a 1000-seed mass ranging from 290-310 grams. The plant is tall with relatively low ear attachment, facilitating harvesting. The sum of active temperatures for flowering and maturity is 840 and 1640 degrees Celsius, respectively. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to drought, lodging, and major diseases such as stalk and ear fusarium, as well as head smut and bubble head smut, ensuring stable yields even under stressful conditions.
Recommended planting density depends on moisture availability: at sufficient moisture, the optimal density is 80-90 thousand plants per hectare, and at insufficient moisture — 70-80 thousand. MAS 18T features good seedling energy and efficient water utilization, simplifying harvest and enhancing the quality of the final product. Grain yield can reach 15 tons per hectare, and silage yield — up to 75 tons per hectare, making this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers seeking high productivity and versatility.
