MAS 18L — this is a high-yielding early-maturing sugar corn hybrid with FAO 210, intended for universal use, including grain and silage production. The plant is tall with a cream-colored, dent-type kernel, characterized by medium-low ear attachment height, which facilitates harvesting. The hybrid demonstrates excellent adaptability to various growing conditions, especially in the Polissya and Ukrainian Steppe regions, due to its drought and lodging resistance. One of the key features of MAS 18L is the high feed and food value of its grain, due to high starch content. The plant belongs to the Stay Green type, ensuring prolonged green mass retention and improved forage quality. The 1000-seed weight is 290–310 grams, the number of rows per ear varies from 14 to 18, and the number of kernels per row ranges from 28 to 32, contributing to the hybrid’s high yield. The hybrid exhibits high agronomic performance: emergence energy is rated 8, drought and lodging resistance also at level 8, water use efficiency is 7, and overall feed value reaches 9. MAS 18L shows good tolerance to major corn diseases, including Fusarium ear and stalk rot, and Helminthosporium and Gossypol diseases, ensuring stable yields and product quality.
