The hybrid corn MAS 18 L is a high-yielding early-maturing variety with a FAO index of 210, designed for universal use — both for grain and silage. The plant is tall with a flinty-kernel type, characterized by medium-low ear attachment height. The number of rows ranges from 14 to 18, with 28 to 32 kernels per row. The 1000-kernel weight is 290–310 grams, indicating the large size and quality of the seed material. The hybrid has high seedling vigor, ensuring good germination and uniform plant development.
One of the key features of MAS 18 L is its high adaptability to various growing conditions and agronomic practices, making it suitable for the Polissia and Steppe regions of Ukraine. The plant belongs to the Stay Green type, meaning it retains green mass during maturation, promoting better nutrient accumulation and higher yields. The hybrid demonstrates drought and lodging resistance at level 8, as well as high resistance to major diseases such as stalk and ear fusarium, and head smut and bubble smut, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss.
The hybrid’s yield potential is impressive: up to 15 tons of grain and up to 75 tons of silage per hectare. Its high starch content (8 points) and overall feed value (9 points) make this variety especially valuable for animal feeding and food production. The moisture content at maturity is at a medium level, facilitating harvest and storage. Due to its characteristics, MAS 18 L is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality corn yields under various climatic conditions.
