Description Major
Major is a medium-maturing hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 380, developed by the State Institution Institute of Grain Crops NAAN in cooperation with LLC "Rost Agro". The hybrid is intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe, and is suitable for both dry farming and irrigation. Plants reach a height of about 260-270 cm, have good leafiness and resistance to lodging and stem breakage, ensuring reliability during cultivation and harvest.

Major ears reach a length of 24-25 cm and have a well-ribbed top with 16-18 rows of kernels, each row containing 45-48 yellow-orange, dent-shaped kernels. The 1000-kernel weight is 280-300 g, and the grain yield reaches 81.5%. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity — potentially up to 17.5 t/ha of grain and up to 70 t/ha of silage with high dry matter content. Thanks to good moisture shedding during maturation, Major ensures a stable and high-quality yield even under changing cultivation conditions.

Seeds are supplied in bags of 80,000 units and are treated with the fungicide Maxim XL for protection against diseases. The manufacturer, LLC "Rost Agro", guarantees 100% original seeds with supporting documentation. Payment is made only upon receipt and full inspection of the goods. Major is registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution, confirming its quality and reliability for farmers.
