Maize KWS EK 008

Universal potential of the KWS hybrid

When an agricultural enterprise faces the challenge of providing a stable forage base or feedstock for a biogas plant, the choice of variety becomes a critical economic factor. German breeding expertise from KWS, represented by the KВС EK 008 hybrid, offers a solution focused on maximizing biomass yield with high energy density.

Agronomic advantages

KВС EK 008 is a mid-ripening dent corn hybrid that demonstrates exceptional adaptability across various soil and climatic conditions. Unlike narrow-specialized varieties, this hybrid was developed specifically to meet the demands of intensive farming:

• Silage value: High fiber and starch digestibility make it a top priority for dairy cattle operations.
• Technological flexibility: The ability to effectively convert vegetative biomass into biogas allows the crop to be utilized for renewable energy production.
• Grain stability: The dent grain type ensures optimal moisture release, which is essential for reducing post-harvest handling costs.

Who should choose KВС EK 008?

This hybrid is an optimal choice for farms aiming to diversify risks and utilize a single seed source for multiple purposes: forage harvesting for cattle, biogas production, or selling grain to the food processing industry. KВС EK 008 may not be a "champion" in a single niche, but its balanced profile makes it a reliable tool for crop planning.

It is important to note that when growing this hybrid, one must adhere to mineral nutrition protocols, as its powerful potential requires adequate nutrient availability. This is not a "low-maintenance" variety, but an intensive crop designed for professionals focused on high profitability per hectare.
