LAR 1490

LAR 1490 is a hybrid corn intended for growing sweet corn with high yield and grain quality. This hybrid features rapid early growth and efficient water shedding, promoting good plant development and stable yields. Its tall and sturdy stalk provides resistance to lodging and good drought tolerance, making LAR 1490 suitable for various climatic conditions.

LAR 1490 corn has a starchy kernel type, plant height around 310 cm, and ear attachment height of 110 cm. The ear has 14-16 rows of kernels, and yields up to 150 centners per hectare. The hybrid is resistant to major diseases such as helminthosporiosis, fusarium, and gray mold, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss and enhancing quality.

This versatile hybrid is suitable for both grain production and fresh market use. Thanks to its early maturity—around 70-72 days—LAR 1490 allows harvesting earlier than many other varieties. The corn is well-suited for freezing and long-term storage under proper conditions, expanding its use in processing and sales.
