Maize KM 3260

Genetic Potential and Morphology of KM 3260

The KM 3260 hybrid from Genex Ukraine is a specialized solution for intensive grain corn cultivation. Developed by originators Oleksii Shabatko and Vitalii Karunnyi, this hybrid focuses on creating a plant capable of efficiently converting solar energy and soil nutrients into high commercial grain yields.

Dent Grain Type: Practical Advantages

A key feature of the KM 3260 is its dent grain type. For an agronomist, this implies a specific response to moisture during the ripening period. This grain type possesses high starch density, ensuring excellent test weight and high output during threshing. The dent shape promotes more intensive 'dry-down' in the field, which is critical for reducing post-harvest handling and drying costs.

Agronomic Highlights

• End-use: Dedicated exclusively for grain. The hybrid is engineered to achieve a maximum 1000-kernel weight, which requires maintaining the optimal planting density recommended by the manufacturer.
• Stability: Genex Ukraine has built genetic plasticity into this hybrid, allowing it to mitigate stress factors under various Ukrainian climatic conditions.
• Efficiency: Due to the work of originators Shabatko and Karunnyi, KM 3260 demonstrates a predictable response to mineral nutrition, simplifying nitrogen fertilizer dosage calculations and allowing for more accurate yield planning.

By selecting KM 3260, farmers benefit from local selection adapted to the soil and climatic zones of Ukraine, balancing yield potential with resistance to local pathogens.
