Maize EG 7027

French Breeding for Early Harvest

The EГ 7027 maize hybrid by the French company Lidea is a highly specialized product aimed at the ultra-early planting segment. With original genetics developed at the breeding center in Airaines, France, this hybrid demonstrates exceptional growth dynamics in short vegetation conditions.

Technological Profile and SH2 Genetics

The key feature of EГ 7027 is its SH2 (Super Sweet) classification. This generation of sweet corn is characterized by a high sugar content in the kernels and a slow conversion rate of sugar to starch. This trait makes the hybrid highly sought after in both the commercial processing sector and the fresh produce market. The combination of yellow and white kernels (bi-color) gives the final product an attractive market appearance.

Agronomic Metrics

• Vegetation Period: 70–72 days. This allows for scheduled harvest logistics throughout the season.
• Planting Density: 30,000–40,000 plants per hectare. The recommended density is driven by the hybrid’s high tillering potential and its need for optimal access to sunlight and nutrients to form a high-quality ear.
• Usage: Grain production.

Choosing EГ 7027 is a strategic decision for growers targeting the early market, where every day shaved off the vegetation period translates into a premium selling price. Lidea consistently emphasizes the stress tolerance of its French lines, and this hybrid proves to be reliable even when faced with temperature fluctuations during the early planting stages.
