DKS 3169 — a medium-early simple hybrid of maize (Zea mays L.) intended for grain production. It features a medium kernel type with yellow coloring in both upper and lower parts, dent-shaped form, and a 1000-kernel weight ranging from 300–360 grams. The plant is of medium height, reaching 230–250 cm, with broad leaves and a long, slightly conical ear of medium diameter, bearing 14–16 rows of kernels, with 34–40 kernels per row. The hybrid’s vegetation period is approximately 118 days, classifying it as medium-early in FAO group 320.

The hybrid is distinguished by high yield and stability, confirmed by average grain yield in the Central region at 76.7 c/ha and maximum yields up to 116.5 c/ha. It has a strong, remontant plant type and a robust root system, ensuring good adaptation to various soil-climatic conditions, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones of Ukraine. DKS 3169 demonstrates high drought and lodging tolerance, as well as resistance to common maize diseases such as common rust, ear fusarium, helminthosporium, and smut.

Recommended planting density depends on water availability: 75–80 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture, and 65–70 thousand plants per hectare under limited moisture. Starch content in the grain exceeds 72%, making this hybrid attractive for producing high-quality grain. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, DKS 3169 is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high and stable yields under diverse growing conditions.
