Description Asteri CS
Corn hybrid Asteri CS is a medium-early three-line hybrid with FAO 290, intended for grain production. The plant is of medium height with medium-width leaves and medium-length and thickness ears, having a weakly conical shape and a colored stalk. The grain is intermediate type, closer to flint, with a yellow upper part. The tassel flowering time is early, and the anthocyanin coloration of the ear husk and silk is weak or moderate. The hybrid is included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region and is recommended for cultivation in the northern steppe, forest-steppe, and forested areas with optimal sowing dates from +10°C. Asteri CS stands out for its high yield, averaging 72.4 c/ha, which is 21.8 c/ha higher than the standard, with a potential yield capacity of up to 180 c/ha (18 t/ha). The hybrid is well adapted to various soil conditions, including sandy soils, and optimizes drying costs due to rapid water release. The recommended seeding rate varies depending on moisture: 65-70 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture, and 55-70 thousand/ha under insufficient moisture. The hybrid exhibits high drought and lodging resistance, ensuring stable yields under challenging climatic conditions. It also demonstrates resistance to several diseases, including stalk and ear Fusarium, Helminthosporium, and stalk and ear smut. However, it shows moderate susceptibility to bacterial diseases and increased sensitivity to corn borer. Due to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability, corn hybrid Asteri CS is an effective choice for intensive and medium-intensity cultivation technologies.
