Artemiv 280 SV is a three-line hybrid corn of intensive type, intended for grain and silage production. It belongs to medium-early hybrids with FAO 280 and matures to full grain ripeness within 140–151 days in the forest-steppe region of Ukraine. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity and resistance to adverse conditions such as cold and drought, making it a reliable choice for cultivation across various ecological zones of the country.
Artemiv 280 SV plants reach a height of 260–300 cm and have approximately 17 leaves on the main stem with weak bushiness. The ear has a weak conical shape, 18–23 cm long, with 18–20 rows of kernels and 41–48 kernels per row. The kernels are dent, yellow in color, with a 1000-kernel weight of 280–300 g, and the grain yield per ear reaches 80–81%. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to lodging and diseases, contributing to stable yields.
The production of this hybrid's seeds is carried out on a sterile basis (C-type) with complete fertility renewal, ensuring high-quality planting material. Artemiv 280 SV has passed state variety trials since 2007 and achieved grain yields of 10.4 t/ha under various ecological conditions in Ukraine, exceeding the standards of its maturity group by 1.4–2.1 t/ha.
