SMOLENSKY

Hybrid Clover SMOLENSKY is a high-quality variety of red clover belonging to the legume group. This diploid bi-cut variety is characterized by an early maturation period—only 45–55 days from regrowth to budding. It is widely used in agronomy as green manure, improving soil structure and fertility, as well as increasing crop yields. The variety is resistant to diseases and pests, ensuring stability and reliability in cultivation under various climatic conditions. The SMOLENSKY variety is characterized by high yields: two cuts can yield 380–400 centners of green mass and 75–80 centners of dry matter per hectare. Seeds have a mass of 1000 pieces of about 1.6–1.7 grams, and seed yield reaches 2–3 centners per hectare. An important advantage is good winter hardiness—by spring, 93–96% of plants are preserved, which allows for successful cultivation in temperate climatic zones. Crude protein content in dry matter at the beginning of flowering is 17.3%, making this variety a valuable forage plant. Clover SMOLENSKY is suitable for single-species sowings as well as inclusion in grass mixtures with early cereals such as ryegrass, meadow fescue, and timothy grass. It withstands soil waterlogging and low acidity, expanding cultivation opportunities. The recommended sowing rate is 5 kg per hectare for seed production and 12–16 kg per hectare for forage purposes. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and resistance, this variety is a reliable choice for increasing productivity and forage base quality.
