Chrysanthemum Snowflake

Breeding legacy of the M.M. Gryshko NBGs

The 'Snizhynka' chrysanthemum is the result of long-term efforts by breeders at the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. This variety was developed to meet the market demand for compact, climate-resilient plants capable of maintaining high decorative value without intensive maintenance. Unlike imported greenhouse hybrids, 'Snizhynka' is adapted to open-ground conditions, exhibiting remarkable frost resistance.

Agrotechnical profile

The visual character of the plant is built on the contrast of snow-white petals and a compact bush shape. With a height not exceeding 30 cm, this variety is an ideal candidate for border planting and container gardening. The medium-sized flower (5–10 cm) looks harmonious both in landscape design and as cut flowers for indoor arrangements.

• Optimal planting time: Spring (warmed soil promotes rapid rooting).
• Sunlight requirements: The variety is light-loving; to form a dense display, select the most sun-drenched areas of the garden.
• Application: Establishing low borders, landscaping terraces, and patio container gardening.

The reputation of this variety within the professional community is anchored in its durability. Its high resistance to frost makes 'Snizhynka' a reliable choice for landscaping private estates across various climatic zones of Ukraine. It represents a classic piece of local breeding, proven by time and environmental challenges.
