Chrysanthemum Debut

Genetic Potential and Ornamental Characteristics

The 'Debüt' chrysanthemum variety, developed by the SSSP 'Sortsemovoshch', is a specialized selection designed for stable performance in temperate climates. A key feature of this variety is the balance between its compact habit (30–60 cm in height) and high ornamental value. The vibrant yellow color of the blooms is resistant to fading under direct sunlight, ensuring the plant retains its aesthetic appeal throughout the entire flowering season.

Agrotechnology and Biological Traits

• Temperature Adaptation: This variety features high frost resistance. Its ability to withstand low temperatures makes it suitable for both container gardening and as a perennial for outdoor flower beds.
• Phenology: 'Debüt' is classified as an early-to-mid season variety. Bud formation begins in September, with peak bloom in October. Breeders Yu. V. Vasiliev and A. F. Vinogradova have optimized the plant's response to photoperiod changes, ensuring prolonged flowering.
• Light Requirements: The plant is highly light-demanding. Whether cultivated in a garden or as a pot plant, choosing a site with maximum exposure to direct sunlight is crucial for maintaining stem strength and color saturation.

Practical Application

The versatility of 'Debüt' is driven by its physical dimensions. As a medium-sized plant, it serves as an ideal tool for landscaping, whether for garden borders or creating dense floral massifs. Furthermore, the structural strength of the flower stems makes it suitable for cut-flower applications, as the blooms maintain freshness for a significant period. Recommended planting times—spring and summer—allow the plant to establish a robust root system before the first frosts, which is essential for successful overwintering.
