Description
Alpika Chrysanthemum is an attractive perennial herbaceous plant from the Asteraceae family, characterized by its compact size: the adult plant height ranges from 18 to 25 cm, and the width reaches up to 25 cm. The leaves are pinnately divided, gathered in a basal rosette, dark green on top and grey-green underneath. The flowers consist of numerous disk-like inflorescences up to 4.5 cm in diameter, made up of white ray florets and yellow tubular flowers, arranged on upright and sturdy flower stalks. Blooming occurs in July-August, and the fruits, in the form of seeds, ripen in the second half of September to early October.
This plant is excellent for growing in sunny locations, although it can also tolerate partial shade. Alpika Chrysanthemum is winter-hardy and recommended for use in alpine gardens, rock gardens, low landscape compositions, flower beds, and lawns. It also grows well in pots and decorative containers. During hot seasons, the plant requires regular watering and responds positively to fertilization, promoting healthy growth and abundant flowering.
The Alpika Chrysanthemum originates from alpine zones of European mountain systems, which gives it its hardiness and undemanding nature. The plant dislikes calcareous soils and prefers well-moistened but drained substrates. Thanks to its frost resistance and compact size, Alpika Chrysanthemum is an excellent choice for borders, flower beds, and alpine slopes, adding an elegant and natural look.
