Chrysanthemum CRANE SONG

Native Breeding for Your Garden

The 'Zhuravlinaya Pesn' (Crane Song) chrysanthemum is a notable product of the Russian breeding school, developed by the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In a market often dominated by imported stock, this cultivar stands out as a solution for gardeners seeking plants adapted to temperate climatic conditions.

Architecture and Flowering

This cultivar belongs to the Multiflora type—a category highly valued for the plant's ability to naturally form a dense, perfectly rounded bush without the need for manual pruning. With a medium height of 30–60 cm, 'Zhuravlinaya Pesn' serves as a versatile tool in landscape design. By September, the bush forms a harmonious sphere, hidden beneath a dense 'cap' of blossoms.

Technical Specifications

• Flower diameter: medium, 5–10 cm, ensuring an expressive look while maintaining a delicate silhouette.
• Light requirements: thrives in sunny locations. In shaded areas, the shoots tend to stretch, which disrupts the natural spherical geometry.
• Cold hardiness: characterized as moderate. In harsher climates, winter protection or container cultivation in non-freezing conditions is recommended.

The 'Zhuravlinaya Pesn' is ideal for formal flowerbeds, border planting, or as a standalone feature. Its early September bloom effectively bridges the 'seasonal gap' in the garden, providing color when summer annuals have faded but autumn has not yet fully settled in.
