MEMORIAL OF N.V. STAROVOY CHRYSANTHEMUM

The 'Memorial of N.V. Starovoy' chrysanthemum is a Korean variety of a perennial plant from the aster family. Bushes reach a height of about 53 cm and a diameter of 55 cm, with a semi-spreading shape, strong foliage, and a medium growth rate. The leaves are green and smooth, the flower stalks are sturdy, ensuring stem stability. The flowers are semi-double, about 7.5 cm in diameter, colored lilac-white with a characteristic specific aroma. The flower color fades slightly in the sun, maintaining decorative appeal throughout the flowering period.

Flowering is abundant and long-lasting, starting on August 10th and lasting about 68 days. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to diseases and pests, and its ability to withstand adverse weather conditions, including heat. Frost resistance and drought tolerance are at an average level, making it suitable for cultivation in the central region of Russia. Due to these characteristics, the 'Memorial of N.V. Starovoy' chrysanthemum is recommended for use in garden landscaping and ornamental floriculture.

This variety was developed at the Botanical Garden-Institute of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ufa IC RAS) and included in the register in 2011. Despite the relatively low number of reviews and the absence of a patent, it is of interest to enthusiasts and professionals who value late-flowering cultivars with good adaptation to climatic conditions.
