Chrysanthemum Churaivna

Breeding breakthrough: the genetic base of the 'Churaivna' chrysanthemum

The 'Churaivna' cultivar is the result of long-term breeding work by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Unlike imported greenhouse hybrids, this variety is adapted to regional climatic conditions, which defines its primary technical value: high frost resistance.

Technical specifications and adaptive mechanisms

• Frost hardiness: The plant possesses a well-developed root system capable of regeneration following low-temperature exposure. Adaptation to the local climate allows the cultivar to overwinter in open ground without sustaining critical damage to meristematic tissues.
• Phototropism: This variety demonstrates an increased need for solar irradiation. When planted in well-lit areas, it facilitates intense chlorophyll synthesis and carbohydrate accumulation, which directly influences stem density and inflorescence quality.
• Purpose and architecture: 'Churaivna' is classified as a decorative species with a clearly defined architectural bush structure. Its stable growth form reduces the necessity for additional support or staking when used in garden compositions.

The practical significance of this cultivar lies in its biological stability. By choosing 'Churaivna', gardeners obtain planting material whose development cycle is synchronized with the natural light and temperature rhythms of Ukraine. From an agrotechnical perspective, the variety does not require specific growth regulators, as its genetically programmed development allows for optimal decorative performance under standard maintenance practices.
