Description Princess Anna White
Chrysanthemum variety Princess Anna — an English selection developed in 1951, distinguished by its versatility and high decorative value. The plant forms sturdy, densely foliated, well-branched stems reaching 80 to 100 cm in height. Leaves are dark green, medium-sized, densely filling the space between branches, creating an impressive bush. Flower heads are flat and reach 14–16 cm in diameter, colored in various shades — from lavender-pink and cream to golden-yellow and terracotta. Flowers are distinguished by their unusual shape and attractiveness, making the variety popular for cut flowers and container cultivation. Princess Anna chrysanthemum has a prolonged flowering period, lasting from September to November, allowing enjoyment of its beauty during the autumn season. The plant is highly sensitive to photoperiod and temperature regimes, therefore requiring proper care and growing conditions. The variety has high productivity: 20–25 cuttings can be obtained from one plant, and approximately 47 flower heads per square meter. Flowers withstand transportation well, making them suitable for commercial use. The overall resistance of the variety is rated high, confirming its reliability and resilience. Care for Princess Anna chrysanthemum is simple and includes infrequent watering, timely removal of wilted flowers, and weed control. The plant prefers sunny locations for planting and adapts well after transplanting. Indoors, chrysanthemums can be grown in pots and transplanted into open ground in spring, where they will spread and bloom abundantly by autumn. In cold regions, for winter storage, it is recommended to dig up the plant and keep it in a cool, well-lit room with moderate watering. Under favorable conditions, the variety can overwinter in the ground under cover, expanding its cultivation possibilities across various climate zones.
