This variety was obtained by crossing the cherry 'Leningradskaya Krasnaya' with 'Zolotaya Lošitskaya'. Originator — All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Selection of Fruit Plants named after I.V. Michurin. Authors: B.L. Nikitin, G.G. Nikiforova, I.N. Zolotukhina, L.A. Deineka. Approved in 1998 for the Central Black Earth region.
Tree is vigorous, with a pyramidal crown of moderate density and a sparse-tiered branching pattern. Shoots are brownish-brown, upright. Many large, white buds. Leaves are medium-sized, broad, smooth, light green. Leaf blade is concave, without pubescence. Leaf margin finely toothed. Stipules are short, petioles are medium, thick, green. Stigmas are medium, 2 in number, yellow. Stigma position is slightly higher relative to anthers. Buds are rounded-conical, medium size, dark brown, without pubescence, closely adhered to shoots. Flowers are large, white, 3 per inflorescence. Fruit set on cluster branches.
Fruits are large, weighing 4.9 g, 17 mm high, 16 mm in diameter in two planes. Oval-pressed shape, rounded apex, wide depression, no indentation at base. Pedicel is medium, thick, with good detachment from the branch. Fruit color is dark red, no lenticels. Flesh is red, tender, juicy. Juice is light red. Taste is sour-sweet. Fruits contain 16.92% dry matter, 15.45% sugars, 0.87% titratable acids, 352 mg/100g of P-active catechins, sugar-to-acid ratio 16.56%, 4.7 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Fruit transportability is good; this variety is universal.
Enters fruiting at 6-7 years. Partially self-fertile. High yield. Early flowering and early ripening variety.
Tree, shoots, and generative buds are resistant to winter frosts; flower buds are resistant to spring frosts. Variety is drought- and heat-tolerant. Resistant to pests and diseases. Universal variety. Suitable for commercial cultivation and processing.
Advantages: high winter hardiness, early ripening, large fruits of universal use, ecologically resilient variety.
Disadvantages: high tree growth.
