The plant features a compact, harmonious bush up to 2.6–3 meters tall with dense oval leaves that form an attractive background for vibrant inflorescences. The inflorescences are large, up to 20–25 cm long, dense, and double, with flowers up to 3 cm in diameter. Petals have a unique purplish-lilac color with distinctive light tips, resembling the lights of headlamps, which inspired the variety's name. Flowering occurs in May and early June, with inflorescences maintaining vivid color and not fading in the sun.
Lilac 'Donbass Lights' has a moderate, pleasant fragrance, enhancing the plant's decorative appeal. The shrub grows quickly and is adaptable to various soils, tolerating both full sun and partial shade. For successful cultivation, deep watering is essential, especially during the first month after planting, when seedlings should be watered once a week with one bucket of water. In Ukraine, this variety does not require winter protection, simplifying care.
This variety is ideal for landscaping gardens, parks, and squares, as well as for creating decorative zones and relaxation areas around homes. Thanks to its beauty, fragrance, and low maintenance, 'Donbass Lights' will become an eye-catching feature on any site, adding vibrancy and comfort.
