Santana AR 508 is a high-yield strain of pasteurized button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) intended for fresh consumption, freezing, and industrial processing. The culture is characterized by three distinct flushes, with the cycle from inoculation to harvest of the third flush taking 48‑56 days. The strain features stable fruiting body quality and does not require strict climatic conditions.
Santana AR 508 fruits have a round white cap, 40 to 80 mm in size, sometimes slightly scaly. The stem is cylindrical, central, dense, and white in color. The average fruiting body weight is approximately 19–42 g, depending on growing conditions. The mushroom flesh is white and dense, ensuring good texture during cooking.
Yield across three flushes reaches 15.2‑32 kg/m², and the average fruiting body weight allows for the production of high-quality products for culinary use and industrial processing. For optimal growth, air temperature of 19–20 °C, humidity of 90‑92 %, and CO₂ levels of 1800‑2000 ppm are recommended. Mycelium is used in briquette production with compost, ensuring effective seeding and mushroom growth.
