ZAKHAR

ZAKHAR is a mid-season celery variety that reaches technical maturity 90-100 days after germination. The leaf rosette is semi-erect; the leaves are green, dissected with broad-triangular segments and a strongly dissected margin. Stalks are narrow, green, and of medium length. The leaves possess excellent taste and aroma, making the variety universal for fresh consumption, canning, and use as a spice in various dishes.

The leaves of the Zakhar variety are rich in vitamin C, carotene, and mineral salts, which ensures their high nutritional value. They regrow well after cutting, allowing for several harvests of greens from one plant. The yield of greens ranges from 2.4 to 5 kg per square meter, indicating the high productivity of the variety.

The variety can be grown both via seedlings and by direct sowing into the ground followed by thinning. Seeds are sown shallowly, to a depth of about 0.5 cm, with a plant spacing of 25x10 cm. To improve growth at 30-40 days of age, feeding with a saltwater solution is recommended. Care includes loosening the inter-row spaces, weeding, and watering, which contributes to the formation of healthy and sturdy plants.
