Carrot Gerkules

Engineered for Industrial Processing

The «Hercules» carrot by Sakata, the Japanese breeding powerhouse, is a specialized variety engineered for professional vegetable producers who focus on the industrial processing market. In an environment where consistency and quality dictate supply chain contracts, selecting a Chantenay-type hybrid like Hercules is a strategic move for operations serving canning plants or frozen food manufacturers.

Agronomic Performance and Features

Sakata’s breeding expertise is evident in the Hercules hybrid, which balances maturity speed with industrial-grade durability. With a 70–80 day maturity window, it fits perfectly into high-intensity production schedules. Key technical specifications include:

• Shape and Size: The 15–20 cm conical roots are optimized for high-speed mechanical washing, peeling, and dicing lines, reducing processing waste significantly.
• Color Profile: An intense orange pigmentation that remains stable even through rigorous processing cycles, ensuring a high-quality finished product.
• Planting Density: A recommended density of 0.8–1.0 million plants per hectare allows for uniform root development, essential for mechanized harvesting efficiency.

Hercules is not merely a market-garden variety; it is an industrial asset. It provides the uniformity, yield potential, and stress tolerance expected from the Sakata brand. For growers targeting large-scale supply contracts, this variety offers a reliable return on investment through its adaptability and consistent performance in the field, meeting the stringent requirements of the modern processing sector.
