VITAVIR is an early-maturing universal hybrid of Chinese cabbage, suitable for both fresh market and freezing. The vegetative period is 70–80 days when seedlings are planted in spring and 80–90 days when planted in summer. The plant is low with a powerful leaf apparatus and well-covered flower clusters. The leaf rosette is small, semi-spreading, with short light-green oval leaves that have a wrinkled, crinkled, and wavy surface with hairiness at the edges. The petioles are green, short, narrow, and of medium thickness. The plant mass varies from 500 to 700 grams, while the mass of the dense snow-white head reaches up to 2 kg; the head is characterized by a lack of hairiness and high uniformity of ripening.
The VITAVIR hybrid is suitable for early spring planting under cover, as well as for cultivation in open ground from mid-June. The recommended planting density is 25,000–35,000 plants per hectare. The yield reaches 6.0–6.2 kg per square meter, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation and home use. The cabbage has good market qualities and is relatively resistant to vascular bacteriosis and turnip mosaic, which increases its reliability under various climatic conditions.
VITAVIR is recommended for use both fresh and in home cooking, thanks to the good taste of the leaves and petioles. The variety is marked with microsatellite DNA markers, which confirms its genetic stability and quality. This hybrid is an excellent choice for those who value an early harvest, high product quality, and disease resistance.
