Colored cabbage Casper F1 — a mid-season hybrid of Dutch selection by the company Rijk Zwaan, intended for cultivation in open ground under various climatic conditions, including southern regions of Ukraine and Crimea. The vegetative period ranges from 80 to 100 days when grown from seedlings and up to 120–125 days when sown directly into the soil. The hybrid is distinguished by high resilience, well-developed root system, and ability to withstand heat, high nighttime temperatures, and low air humidity without compromising crop quality. The plant forms large, dense, snow-white heads weighing from 1.5 to 3 kg, characterized by uniform shape and absence of fuzziness. The cabbage leaves are dense and intensely protect the heads from scorching sunlight, preventing yellowing and drying of the heads. Casper F1 is resistant to cracking, darkening, and rot, enabling it to remain on the field for extended periods before harvest. This makes the hybrid especially convenient for industrial cultivation and fresh market sales. Casper F1 is suitable for cultivation during summer, autumn, and spring periods, demonstrating high yields of up to 8–10 kg per square meter at a planting density of 25–35 thousand plants per hectare. It tolerates standard agronomic practices including irrigation, fertilization, and pest control. The heads retain their quality after thermal processing such as boiling and freezing, expanding the possibilities for using the hybrid both fresh and for processing.
