Cabbage SPHERE

Technical profile of Cabbage 'Sfera' by Moravoseed

Moravoseed's Czech breeding program consistently prioritizes the balance between vegetative development and end-product quality. 'Sfera' is a mid-early white cabbage hybrid, with morphological characteristics specifically engineered for the professional fresh market.

Biological traits and head quality

• Shape and structure: The round shape is achieved through tight leaf packaging and a short internal core. Head density is a critical parameter here, preventing splitting during sudden moisture fluctuations—a vital factor for maintaining marketability.
• Color palette: The intense dark-green foliage not only enhances visual appeal for the consumer but also indicates robust chlorophyll levels and efficient photosynthesis, ensuring steady plant growth.
• Weight metrics: The 1.0–2.0 kg range is ideal for retail distribution. This weight class streamlines logistics and unit pricing for consumers, eliminating the need for splitting heads at the point of sale.

Practical application

This hybrid exhibits excellent field uniformity, facilitating mechanized harvesting with minimal crop loss. Its high degree of plasticity allows the variety to adapt well to various soil types, provided that standard irrigation protocols are maintained. 'Sfera' represents a balanced choice for growers seeking predictable outcomes when producing cabbage for supermarkets and produce markets.
