Consistent Results: Growing Amazing Cauliflower

For professional vegetable growers, the Amazing hybrid from Bejo has become a benchmark for reliability. Under intensive farming conditions, this cauliflower hybrid shows predictable growth dynamics, which is crucial for scheduling deliveries to both fresh market retailers and processing facilities.

Vegetation and Market Quality

A maturity period of 80–90 days allows for precise harvest scheduling. When working with Amazing, the uniformity of the heads is particularly impressive: the average weight ranges from 1.0 to 2.0 kg, making it the industry standard for retail and frozen food segments. The foliage is robust and covers the curd well, providing excellent protection against direct sunlight, which reduces the risk of yellowing or anthocyanin discoloration even during periods of heat stress.

Field Management Tips

• Planting Density: It is optimal to use a spacing that allows the plant to fully express its rosette potential. Overcrowding typically leads to reduced head weight.
• Nutrition: The hybrid responds well to intensive fertilization programs, especially during the curd initiation phase. Split nitrogen applications and a focus on calcium are recommended to maintain internal density.
• Protection: The thick wrapper leaves facilitate the application of crop protection products, as contact agents adhere well to the surface.

Amazing is highly valued because the curd maintains its density and marketability long after harvest. This provides producers with a safety margin during logistics to processing centers or supermarket shelves. With proper care, post-harvest trim waste is minimal, directly impacting the profitability per hectare.
