AUTUMN BEAUTY

Ornamental cabbage of the variety "Autumn Beauty" is a biennial plant with large, ruffled or cut leaves that create a lush and airy appearance. Leaves can reach significant sizes and feature diverse shapes — from egg-shaped to elliptical, with serrated edges, giving the plant a special curly look. Leaf coloration varies from light green and green with white stripes to bluish-green with pink or purple spotting, and includes shades of yellow, red, purple, pink, and magenta, allowing for the creation of unique plant ornaments and striking compositions in flowerbeds and gardens.

This variety of ornamental cabbage is distinguished by high cold hardiness and light-loving properties, is undemanding in care. The plant prefers sunny locations or partial shade with loose, fertile soil. To obtain healthy seedlings, seeds are sown in April, and planted in open ground at the end of May with a distance of 35-40 cm between plants. Care includes regular loosening, watering, and fertilization with nitrogen or organic fertilizers every 7-10 days. The cabbage withstands frosts down to -8°C and retains its decorative qualities from August until the first hard frosts.

Ornamental cabbage "Autumn Beauty" is widely used for decorating gardens and home plots in single and group plantings, as well as in rabatkas and borders. Low-growing plants with a height of 0.6 to 0.8 m allow creating diverse compositions by combining varieties with different leaf coloration and shapes. When transplanting into pots in autumn, the cabbage can delight with its appearance in home conditions until New Year. In addition to decorative qualities, young leaves are edible and can be used in food, for example, in salads or stewed with potatoes after removing bitterness by freezing.
