Buckwheat KURSKAYA 87

Stability and Adaptability in Modern Buckwheat Production

The «Kurskaya 87» buckwheat variety is a result of long-term selective breeding by the Kursk Federal Agrarian Scientific Center in collaboration with the Belgorod State Agrarian University. This variety is designed for intensive farming, where predictability of yields and harvesting efficiency are the key drivers of profitability.

Agronomic Profile

Kurskaya 87 is classified as an early-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 72 to 85 days. This rapid development cycle allows the crop to effectively utilize spring and early summer moisture, often bypassing the stress caused by late-summer droughts. The plants typically reach a height of 85–100 cm. A major benefit of this variety is its excellent resistance to lodging, which is a critical feature for mechanized harvesting, ensuring minimal grain loss in the field.

Market Position and Application

For agricultural producers, Kurskaya 87 represents a reliable investment in regional productivity. It has shown robust performance in the soil and climatic conditions of Central Russia. In the current market, it remains a competitive choice due to its high adaptability to local soil types and its positive response to basic agrotechnical measures and fertilizer application. It is a preferred solution for farmers who prioritize a balance between input costs and stable, consistent yields during the harvest season.
