Buckwheat DOZHDIK

Technical Profile of 'Dozhdik' Buckwheat

Developed by the Federal Research Center for Legumes and Grops, the 'Dozhdik' variety represents a targeted breeding outcome focused on yield stability under fluctuating moisture conditions. As an annual crop, it is adapted to diverse climatic zones and shows a distinct response to intensive agricultural management practices.

Morphophysiological Features

The primary advantage of this variety lies in its plant architecture, which ensures optimal distribution of photosynthetically active radiation. Unlike taller counterparts, 'Dozhdik' maintains a balanced ratio between vegetative mass and reproductive organs, minimizing lodging risks during periods of excessive rainfall. The uniform development of inflorescences is critical for achieving consistent grain size during harvest.

Practical Implementation

• Yield Potential: Stable grain filling in the lower and middle tiers of the inflorescence allows for high test weight even during challenging thermal regimes.
• Agrotechnical Response: The variety demonstrates significant yield sensitivity to micronutrient applications during the budding phase, effectively unlocking its genetic potential.
• Harvestability: The plant's morphology allows for the efficient use of combine harvesters with minimal losses at the cutting stage.

Choosing 'Dozhdik' is a strategic decision for farms focused on producing high-quality groats with minimal impurity content, achieved primarily through the superior uniformity of the seeds.
