SANDWICH BASIL

Sandwich basil is a unique variety of basil, characterized by very large pleated leaves up to 12 cm long. The plant reaches a height of 35-40 cm, featuring bubbly green leaves with a pleasant mild aroma and flavor. The leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals, making this basil not only delicious but also a healthy green.

This basil variety is widely used in cooking: it is added to salads, used as a seasoning for soups, meat, and fish. It is especially well-suited for making sauces for pasta dishes, imparting a rich aroma and flavor. Additionally, basil has toning properties and aids digestion, making it a valuable ingredient in the diet.

Sandwich basil is grown by seedlings or direct seeding in open ground. Seeding for seedlings is recommended to be done in late March to early April, while direct seeding in the ground should be done in May or early June. Seedling planting in the ground is carried out in early June with an optimal planting scheme of 30x30 cm. The plant prefers well-structured, humus-rich soils and requires regular watering for proper development.
