Traveler

The winter barley variety Traveler is a medium-maturing, low-growing crop with high resistance to lodging and drought. It is characterized by its suitability for brewing due to its low protein content and high grain extractability. The variety is included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth Region and is recommended for cultivation in Belgorod and Oryol regions, where average yields reach 33.1 c/ha, with a maximum of 69.4 c/ha recorded in Kursk region in 2011. Traveler features large grains and high yields, reaching up to 102.3 c/ha at a seeding rate of 380–460 thousand seeds per hectare. It has moderate resistance to powdery mildew and leaf spot, but requires mandatory fungicide treatment at sowing due to strong susceptibility to helminthosporiosis. These characteristics make it suitable for intensive cultivation using modern agronomic practices. Thanks to its adaptive qualities and resistance to major diseases, the Traveler variety is a reliable choice for farmers focused on producing high-quality brewing barley. Its grain exhibits high weight and good technological properties, ensuring a stable and high output when agronomic recommendations are followed.
