Barley Fink

German genetics for a stable yield

The spring barley "Fink" by KWS represents years of German breeding excellence, aimed at developing a versatile variety capable of delivering consistent performance across diverse climatic zones. KWS's development strategy focuses on high-intensity cultivation, making "Fink" a vital asset for agronomists aiming for premium grain quality and minimal harvest losses.

Agronomic profile and resilience

The core strength of this variety lies in its ability to mature rapidly. With a growing season of 80–90 days, "Fink" effectively escapes mid-summer droughts and makes optimal use of early spring moisture. Key performance indicators include:

• High thousand-grain weight: 48–50 grams, ensuring excellent flour yield potential and strong feed value.
• Comprehensive field tolerance: KWS breeding ensures robust resistance to major pathogens, including helminthosporiosis, rust, fusarium, and powdery mildew.

These traits make the variety a reliable rotation crop, requiring minimal fungicide intervention. Its grain stability serves both the livestock feed market and the food processing industry.

Why choose "Fink"?

KWS remains a market leader in spring cereals due to the predictability of its genetics. "Fink" does not require overly complex management but performs exceptionally well on fertile soils when seeding rates are optimized. By choosing this variety, farmers invest in proven German technology that mitigates risks associated with adverse weather conditions and disease pressure.
