Barley variety Overture is a winter medium-maturing variety developed by French breeders of the company Limagrain Europe S.A. The vegetation period ranges from 70 to 88 days, allowing successful cultivation in various regions. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 25.5 centners per hectare, as well as resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring stable harvest even under adverse conditions.
The barley grain of Overture has quality characteristics important for the brewing industry: the 1000-grain weight is 41.6 grams, protein content is 9%, kernel uniformity reaches 94%, and germination rate is 98%. These properties make the variety especially in demand for beer production, as well as for feed production, highlighting its multi-purpose use.
The Overture variety was created by crossing varieties KWS Irina and Overture, which provides it with high yield and disease resistance. It demonstrates excellent performance in various regions of Ukraine, confirming its adaptability and reliability. Thanks to these qualities, barley Overture is a promising choice for farmers focused on efficient and high-quality grain production.
