Mironovskiy 86 is a barley variety that belongs to the group of time-tested crops used in Ukrainian agriculture. Despite the emergence of new varieties with improved characteristics, Mironovskiy 86 maintains its relevance due to stable yield and adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions. This variety is part of traditional breeding and serves as a benchmark for comparison with new hybrids.
The Atlant Mironovskiy variety, similar in name and characteristics, is a winter barley of early-maturing group. It is distinguished by high drought, lodging, and shattering resistance, making it a favorable choice for Ukrainian farmers. Plants reach a height of up to 93 cm, have a two-row, semi-erect, pyramidal ear with ellipsoidal-shaped, large-sized grains. Protein content in the grain varies from 12.3 to 14.5 %, and resistance to major diseases is rated at 6-7 points. To protect against rust diseases, seed treatment with fungicidal protectants is recommended.
Spring barley, to which Mironovskiy 86 also belongs, is widely cultivated in Ukraine and grown in all soil-climatic zones. It is characterized by high yield potential, reaching 5 tons per hectare and more, as well as a short vegetation period. These features allow farmers to obtain stable and high yields with relatively low resource inputs compared to winter crops. Thanks to these advantages, barley cultivation is a highly profitable and advantageous direction in agriculture.
