Spring barley variety MIP Accent was registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register in 2020 and developed by the Myronovskiy Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla, NAAN. This variety is characterized by a medium-late flowering time and medium height, reaching 75-85 cm. It is intended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones, where it demonstrates high yields — up to 44 c/ha in the Forest-Steppe and 32.8 c/ha in the Steppe, as well as drought resistance, confirmed by drought tolerance rating of 8-9 points. MIP Accent possesses comprehensive resistance to diseases, is resistant to lodging and shattering, making it suitable for mechanical harvesting. The variety is distinguished by high productivity, exceeding standard indicators by 0.54 t/ha during competitive trials. Thanks to these features, it is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a stable and high-quality barley harvest. Additionally, the MIP Accent variety is suitable for sowing with perennial grasses, expanding its use in crop rotation and contributing to soil fertility improvement. Barley of this variety contains high levels of protein and vitamins, making it valuable feedstock for agricultural crops and livestock, as well as for the production of various food products.
