Luran — a mid-late maturing six-row winter barley variety, developed by the Czech company "Selig, a.s." and recommended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including the Polissya, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones. This variety is distinguished by high yield, averaging 60 to 80 c/ha, and a thousand-grain weight reaching up to 53 grams, ensuring a significant amount of large grain. Luran exhibits high winter hardiness and resistance to drought, lodging, and diseases, making it a reliable choice for various soil-climatic conditions across the country.
The cultivation agronomy of the Luran variety is standard for its growing regions and does not require special efforts. It is recommended to apply seed treatment and fertilizers to achieve maximum productivity. The seeding rate is 3.5–4.0 million seeds per hectare. Applying plant growth regulators, insecticides, and humates helps to obtain a high and stable yield. Planting is permissible after cereal predecessors, thus expanding crop rotation possibilities.
