Ksanadu

The Hanadu barley variety is a medium-maturing winter barley developed by German breeders of Saaten-Union GmbH and registered in 2005. The vegetation period ranges from 84 to 92 days, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Central Chernozem region, Polissya, and forest-steppe areas. The plant is medium-height with a cylindrical, loose ear and large grains featuring an unglazed ventral groove. The 1000-grain weight varies from 39 to 51 grams, and protein content ranges from 9% to 11.5%, ensuring high brewing quality of the grain.

Hanadu is characterized by high yield, reaching 28 to 33.6 centners per hectare depending on the region. The variety is resistant to lodging and hard head, and shows drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various conditions. However, it is susceptible to powdery mildew and helminthosporium, requiring attention to plant protection during the vegetation period.

The primary application of the Hanadu variety is in brewing due to its high technological properties. High protein content and large grains contribute to obtaining high-quality raw material for breweries. The variety is recommended for sowing in various agroclimatic zones, confirming its versatility and adaptability.
