Riko

Riko Eggplant is an early, high-yielding hybrid characterized by a short growing period: from sowing seeds to the first harvest takes only 85-95 days, and from transplanting seedlings — 60-70 days. The plant is strong, open-type with sturdy branches, large leaf canopy, and strong root system, which ensures resistance to lodging and drying out. The hybrid is well-adapted to various climatic conditions and suitable for cultivation both in open ground, greenhouses, and under plastic cover, making it versatile for different regions, including Ukraine.

The fruits of Riko eggplant have oval-cylindrical or pear-shaped form with bright striped purple coloration. Their length is 12-20 cm, diameter — 5-7 cm, and weight — 400-500 grams. The flesh practically contains no seeds and has no bitterness, ensuring excellent taste qualities. Fruits form in quantities of 8-14 per plant, 1-2 per leaf axils. They are characterized by high transportability and can maintain marketable appearance for up to 10 days, and during storage — up to 2 weeks.

The Riko hybrid is resistant to many diseases of solanaceous crops, which contributes to stable and prolonged fruiting until the first frosts. Due to its characteristics, eggplant is suitable for various uses: fresh market, pickling, freezing, canning, and industrial processing. High yield — up to 40-60 tons per hectare — and excellent taste qualities make this hybrid attractive for both farmers and home gardeners.
