Black Pearl

The Black Pearl F1 eggplant is a medium-early hybrid from the Dutch breeding company Enza Zaden, intended for spring and summer cultivation. The vegetative period is approximately 60-70 days from seedling transplanting to the first harvest. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in protected environments, including heated and unheated greenhouses, and demonstrates stable performance with extended crop rotations. The plant is vigorous, branched, well-leafed, with a strong root system, ensuring its resilience and high productivity.

The fruits of the Black Pearl eggplant have a teardrop shape, measuring 15-17 cm in length and up to 7 cm in diameter. Their skin is thin but dense, with a deep black or purple color and a glossy surface, which reliably protects the delicate white flesh from damage during harvesting and transportation. The hybrid exhibits high uniformity in fruit shape and size, ensuring stable yields and high output of marketable produce. One plant can bear 8 to 14 fruits, making this variety especially attractive for commercial cultivation.

The harvested Black Pearl eggplants are versatile in culinary use: the fruits are suitable for preparing various dishes, as well as for pickling, marinating, canning, and freezing. Due to their quality and resistance to damage, this hybrid is an excellent choice for both organic and conventional farming, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
