Actinidia arguta variety "Hardy Red" is a large-fruited, self-fertile variety developed in the USA, known for its early ripening period and high yield. Fruits begin to ripen from the second half of September, ensuring a stable and abundant harvest. This variety is decorative throughout the entire season, making it attractive not only in terms of fruiting but also as an element of landscape design.

The plant is a deciduous climbing vine with intense growth, reaching heights of up to 6 meters and an annual growth of up to 1.5 meters. Bush formation is achieved through regular pruning according to technology similar to grape care. Blooming occurs in the first decade of May, while the flowers are white with a slight greenish tint, adding additional decorative value.

Fruits of the "Hardy Red" variety are large and elongated, with an average weight of 14 to 18 grams or more, a length of about 4 cm, and a diameter of up to 2 cm. The skin is thin and a rich dark red color, while the flesh is burgundy, very juicy and aromatic with pronounced tropical notes of pineapple and kiwi. Yield from one bush can reach 50 kg. The plant's frost resistance is high — up to minus 30 °C, which allows growing actinidia without additional covering throughout Ukraine.
