Aster LADNAYA

Genetic Potential and Morphology of the «Ladnaya» Variety

The breeding work conducted by the North Caucasus Federal Agrarian Research Center (SKFNAZ) regarding aster varieties has resulted in a cultivar that combines high decorative appeal with robust field resilience. «Ladnaya» is the product of targeted selection focused on immunity and growth stability, factors that are essential for professional flower production.

Phytopathological Resistance as a Basis for Productivity

A primary challenge in aster cultivation is the high infectious pressure from diseases such as Fusarium wilt and rust. The «Ladnaya» variety demonstrates enhanced resistance to these pathogens. This is achieved through the structural density of cell walls and specific biochemical markers within plant tissues that inhibit mycelial penetration. For the grower, this translates into tangible benefits: reduced expenditure on fungicide applications and minimized plant mortality during the growing season.

Plant Architecture and Commercial Quality

• Compact Habit: A height of 50-80 cm allows for optimal use of greenhouse or open-field space without causing overcrowding.
• Flower Head: The semi-spherical flower shape, with a diameter of 5-7 cm, is optimally balanced. This geometry ensures high petal density, which enhances durability during transport and extends the vase life of the cut flowers.
• Visual Aesthetics: The delicate pink hue is highly sought after in the floral market for its decorative value and versatility in bouquet arrangements.

This variety is optimized to meet the demands of professional cut-flower operations. Uniformity in plant height and flowering time facilitates mechanized or assembly-line harvesting, significantly reducing labor costs. «Ladnaya» represents a choice for consistent commercial yields with predictable, high-quality results.
