Aster AUTUMN OLYMPIAD

A reliable performer for the autumn garden

The 'Osennyaya Olimpiada' (Autumn Olympics) variety is a prime example of high-quality selection work. Developed by experts at the Federal Research Center for Vegetable Growing, this perennial has established a strong reputation in the professional floriculture market. It is highly valued for its predictable growth pattern and robust resilience against environmental stressors that often affect less adaptive varieties.

Resistance as a key feature

One of the primary characteristics that distinguishes this aster is its marked resistance to Fusarium wilt, a common issue for many China aster varieties. The breeders have successfully developed a plant that does not require extensive fungicide applications throughout the growing cycle, making it an excellent choice for both private gardens and commercial production.

Morphology and application

• Habitus: A compact bush standing 50–80 cm tall, ideal for the middle or back layers of flower beds.
• Inflorescence: Large (8–10 cm) semi-globular heads with a deep purple hue.
• Winter Hardiness: Fully adapted to local climates, the plant survives the winter successfully without the need for digging.

Due to its high density of flower stems and excellent vase life, this variety is highly sought after by florists for creating sophisticated autumn arrangements. In landscape design, 'Osennyaya Olimpiada' serves as a reliable structural element in garden beds, maintaining its decorative appearance until the first hard frosts.
